R-Z16526 in the Corca Laidhe region of influence

Back to the Haplogroups page

Any descendants of R-DF21 in Munster are of interest. R-DF21 was identified in ancient remains on Rathlin Island (off the coast of what is now County Antrim), and is linked with some of the major clans and their rulers - including McCarthy Mór of Munster.

There is a Driscoll lineage in a "cousin" branch to the McCarthy branch of which little is known. We hope for more such men to emerge and fill in some information gaps.
